The University of Wisconsin School of Medicine & Public Health (UWSMPH) is seeking an academic BC/BE Pediatric Emergency Medicine physician at the Assistant/Associate Professor level to join the section of Pediatric Emergency Medicine.
The Department of Pediatrics and American Family Children’s Hospital offers comprehensive pediatric medical and surgical subspecialties. Notable recent additions to our pediatric services include a talented hospitalist group, a full range of cardiovascular surgical services, and a superb imaging program. Many expansion plans are already in place.
The Division of Emergency Medicine at UWSMPH currently has 23 faculty members including three pediatric emergency physicians. Faculty members actively lead the hospital in variety of areas such as Aeromedical transport, Simulation, EMS, Biometric surveillance and Quality Management. Our new ED is well staffed and well resourced, including dedicated radiology, pharmacy, social work, and child life services. Current overall census is 45,000 annually, including over 13,000 pediatric patients.
This is a great opportunity for a faculty candidate to become an integral component of an expanding academic PEM program and enjoy the benefits of living in the nation’s most livable city (Money Magazine 2007 and Forbes 2004). Madison has wonderful cultural and recreational opportunities with outstanding public schools.
The University of Wisconsin is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action employer. Wisconsin Open Records and Caregiver Laws apply. Women and members of minority groups are encouraged to apply. A background check will be conducted prior to employment. www.wisc.edu/employment/madison.php
